Football Recap: Diamond Bar Brahmas vs. Covina Colts

Covina came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against Diamond Bar, but Dominic Tortorelli wouldn't allow it. The Brahmas walked away with a 41-28 victory over the Colts on Thursday with plenty of help from Tortorelli, who rushed for 219 yards and four scores while picking up 13.7 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 135 rushing yards.

The team also got some help courtesy of Richard Perry, who rushed for 116 yards and one TD on only six carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 90-yard run.

Several Colts players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gatsbee Gumban, who rushed for 160 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Gumban also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Covina is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise. Roy Vazquez was another key signal caller, throwing for 166 yards and a pair of TDs.

The win was the third in a row for Diamond Bar, bringing their record up to 3-5.
