Volleyball Recap: Centennial Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Centennial walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the East Ridge Raptors on Thursday, sneaking past 3-2. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Raptors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2018.

Elena Hoecke paced Centennial's offense, picking up 15 kills. Hoecke got some help from Chase Manthey and her 44 assists. Hoecke was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Centennial is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season. As for East Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-9.

Looking ahead, Centennial will take on Rogers at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. East Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
