Recap: Wilcox Central Jaguars vs. Greenville Tigers
The Wilcox Central Jaguars entered their tilt with the Greenville Tigers with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Wilcox Central walked away with a 65-55 victory over the Tigers on Monday. Given Wilcox Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Tigers are ranked 328th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wilcox Central was led to victory by Tyler Moton and Javion Pettway. Moton scored 17 points, while Pettway scored ten points along with seven blocks and six assists. Tyshawn Bowers was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Wilcox Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Greenville, they dropped their record down to 3-21 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilcox Central will face off against the Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Booker T. Washington Magnet comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Greenville, they will head out on the road to square off against the Flying Squadron at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland Home has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 198 points over their last three matches.
