Softball Recap: Holy Cross Takes a Loss

Cinnaminson hit Holy Cross with a six-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lancers fell 7-4 to the Pirates. The defeat continues a trend for the Lancers in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost three in a row.

Jamie Dunn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Holy Cross saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Sadar, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Another was Jayla Bullock, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Holy Cross' loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Cinnaminson, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
