Softball Game Preview: Wells Leopards vs. Pahranagat Valley Panthers

The Wells Leopards will square off against the Pahranagat Valley Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Wells sitting on four straight wins and Pahranagat Valley on six.

Wells is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Round Mountain by a score of 4-1. That's two games straight that the Leopards have won by exactly three runs.

Khloe DelRio made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last seven contests. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

In other batting news, Adriana Aguilar was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Grace Otto was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Pahranagat Valley made easy work of Pyramid Lake on Thursday and carried off a 12-4 victory. Considering the Panthers have won 20 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Wells' record now sits at 22-7. As for Pahranagat Valley, their record is now 22-8.

Wells might still be hurting after the 20-5 loss they got from Pahranagat Valley in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Leopards avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
