Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Blazers vs. Loyola Academy Ramblers

Trinity hasn't had much luck against Loyola Academy recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Trinity Blazers will head out to challenge the Loyola Academy Ramblers at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Trinity took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Fenwick by a score of 45-35.

Meanwhile, Loyola Academy came tearing into Saturday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Broncos 58-42.

Trinity pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points per game. As for Loyola Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.

Trinity took a serious blow against Loyola Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 70-37. Can Trinity avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
