Softball Game Preview: Blaine Borderites vs. Anacortes Seahawks

The Blaine Borderites will head out to take on the Anacortes Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blaine is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

On Monday, Blaine came up short against Lakewood and fell 7-4.

Blaine saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shaylie Daniels, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Dilyn Nowakowski also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Anacortes and Nooksack Valley, and Nooksack Valley kept the tradition alive. The Seahawks lost 17-1 to the Pioneers on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Seahawks in their meetings with the Pioneers: they've now lost three in a row.

Anacortes' loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Blaine, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Everything went Blaine's way against Anacortes in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Blaine made off with a 6-0 victory. Will the Borderites repeat their success, or do the Seahawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
