Softball Recap: Ichabod Crane Makes It 13 in a Row on the Road

The Ichabod Crane Riders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Pittsford Panthers on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Riders.

Torri Cutler made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up seven earned runs off 13 hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Holmberg, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Skylar Konkle, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Ichabod Crane kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Ichabod Crane's victory was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Pittsford, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Ichabod Crane will venture away from home to take on Columbia at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pittsford, they will welcome Eastridge at 5:00 p.m. on the 25th.
