Baseball Game Preview: Central Catholic Raiders vs. Dracut Middies

Central Catholic has gone 7-1 against Dracut recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Raiders will face off against the Middies at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Central Catholic's victory against Methuen wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Raiders narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Rangers 5-4. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Rangers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Rocco Roeger looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Central Catholic: the team is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 0-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Brayden Rivard was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Nick Randazzo also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Dracut hadn't done well against Lawrence recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Middies came out on top against the Lancers by a score of 10-6. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Central Catholic's record is now 3-6. As for Dracut, their record now sits at 7-3.

Central Catholic skirted past Dracut 4-3 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
