Softball Recap: Ocala Christian Takes a Loss

Ocala Christian managed to slip by Cedar Key the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Ocala Christian lost 17-2 to Cedar Key on Tuesday. The defeat leaves the Crusaders still looking for their first win of the season.

Ocala Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Valery Coello-Alamo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Lainie Culver also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Even though they lost, Ocala Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Ocala Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Cedar Key, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4.

Coming up, Ocala Christian will welcome Real Life Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Real Life Christian Academy will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Ocala Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cedar Key, they are taking a road trip to face off against P.K. Yonge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
