Football Game Preview: Lexington Eagles vs. Brazos Cougars

The Lexington Eagles will take on the Brazos Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Lexington put the hurt on Rogers with a sharp 42-22 win. Considering Lexington has won six matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Amaury OBryant produced another solid performance rushing for 108 yards and three TDs. Lincoln Bryan also helped out with an impressive 81 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Brazos beat Industrial 35-27 on Friday.

The victory made it two in a row for Lexington and bumps their season record up to 8-1-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.0 points over those games. As for Brazos, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Lexington couldn't quite get it done against Brazos in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as they fell 35-28. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
