Softball Recap: Arcadia Wins Going Away Against Glendale

Arcadia never got on the board in their matchup back in March, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Glendale on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Nitros with a sharp 11-3 victory. The Apaches might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Quinn Sullivan tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, Arcadia let Addy Ruiz and Alyssa Cordeiro run wild. Ruiz went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple, while Cordeiro went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three runs gave Ruiz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zabrina Perez, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Arcadia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Arcadia's win bumped their record up to 8-6-1. As for Glendale, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-8-1.

Looking ahead, Arcadia will venture away from home to take on Burroughs at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Apaches' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Glendale, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Pasadena at 3:45 p.m. The Nitros' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 13.2 runs per game this season.
