Soccer Game Preview: Richmond vs. Shelbyville

The Richmond Red Devils will face off against the Shelbyville Golden Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Richmond is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.9 goals per game this season.

Richmond is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Fort Wayne South Side just ended the team's five-match winning streak on Saturday. They and the Archers finished up their matchup with a 2-2 draw. The result kept Richmond happy, as they haven't lost a game since September 11th.

Kashawn Ferris Craig was the only thing that stood between Richmond and a shutout considering she scored both of Richmond's goals, bringing her season total up to ten goals.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Shelbyville made sure to put some goals up on the board against Yorktown on Saturday. They walked away with a 4-2 win over the Tigers. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Shelbyville's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Shelbyville's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. Richmond's draw makes their record 9-5-2 this season.

Richmond might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from Shelbyville in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
