Letcher County Central is 6-1 against Harlan since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Green Dragons at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Harlan will be up against a hot Letcher County Central team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Cougars never let Jenkins get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Wednesday. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 11 runs or more this season.

Andrew Little made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).
In other batting news, Kolby Watts was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Dylan Eldridge was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Letcher County Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Harlan). Everything went their way against Thomas Walker on Tuesday as they made off with a 20-0 victory. With that win, the Green Dragons brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.
The team relied heavily on Baylor Varner, who scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Harlan: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Brewer, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
Letcher County Central pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Harlan, they moved to 4-6 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
