Football Recap: Elyria Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Elyria's offense. They had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Avon Lake Shoremen. The defeat continues a trend for the Pioneers in their meetings with the Shoremen: they've now lost eight in a row.

Omari Ford threw for 29 yards on six of 18 attempts. Tyger McCullum was his top target, picking up 31 receiving yards.

Elyria's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Avon Lake, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Elyria will challenge rival Steele at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Avon Lake is set to square off against their familiar foe Olmsted Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
