Recap: McCool Junction Mustangs vs. Dorchester Longhorns
The McCool Junction Mustangs entered their tilt with the Dorchester Longhorns with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. McCool Junction took down Dorchester 49-34 on Friday. Given McCool Junction's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while Dorchester is ranked 125th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Mckenna Yates, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Briann Stutzman was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
McCool Junction pushed their record up to 17-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Dorchester, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6.
McCool Junction does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Dorchester also has no future games currently scheduled.
