Basketball Recap: Santa Ana Falls Despite Big Games from Pedro Moran and Jayden Carter

Santa Ana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost to the Valencia Tigers on the road by a 75-56 margin. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1052nd, while the Tigers are ranked 443rd).

Despite the loss, Santa Ana had strong showings from Jayden Carter, who posted 13 points, and Pedro Moran, who earned 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Rivera, who put up six points.

Santa Ana's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Valencia, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Santa Ana wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 70-42 loss against Laguna Hills on the 10th. Valencia has also already played their next game, an 87-51 victory against Buena Park on the 8th.
