Sunbright is 0-10 against Midway since April of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Tigers will welcome the Green Wave at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Sunbright is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Jellico a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Noah Bunch was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sunbright is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-11 otherwise. Bunch was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sunbright got a massive performance out of Brett Smith, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Smith a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Braidon Carroll, who went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Sunbright was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Midway, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Harriman 6-4.
Like Sunbright, Midway also got a great game from a two-way player: Rowynn McClure. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. McClure was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season.
McClure wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Pepper Willoughby, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Jett Ingram was another, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
Sunbright picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-12. As for Midway, their win bumped their record up to 3-12.
Sunbright suffered a grim 29-11 defeat to Midway in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
