Baseball Game Preview: San Leandro Pirates vs. Mt. Eden Monarchs

For the second straight game, San Leandro will face off against Mt. Eden. The Pirates will venture away from home to face off against the Monarchs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

San Leandro is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Mt. Eden with a sharp 8-1 victory on Tuesday. The Pirates not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 12, 2025 (when they won 11-2).

Sam Linnevers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ignacio Ceja, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Lorenzo Charles was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Mt. Eden is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9. As for San Leandro, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5.
