Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Nogales' Third in Last Four Outings

If Mountain View wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Nogales, they should've done a better job of containing Cecilia Burruel. The Nogales Apaches breezed by the Mountain View Mountain Lions to the tune of 81-22 on Tuesday thanks in part to Burruel, who went 20 for 31 on her way to 50 points in addition to seven assists and six steals. The matchup was her third in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Juzeth Casas, who posted six points. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

Nogales is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 46.3 points. As for Mountain View, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nogales will host Desert View at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mountain View, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Gila Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
