Basketball Recap: Columbia Beats Carlyle for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Columbia won the last time they faced Carlyle, and Eddie Smajic did his part to make sure it happened again. The Columbia Eagles enjoyed a cozy 52-37 win over the Carlyle Indians/Lady Indians on Friday thanks in part to Smajic, who posted 26 points. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points.

The victory (which was Columbia's fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 39.6 points. As for Carlyle, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-3.

Columbia and Wesclin will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Carlyle, they will welcome Greenville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
