Basketball Recap: Ragan Mauler's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Twin Loup over Burwell

Twin Loup lost against Burwell on February 4th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Twin Loup Wolves fell 47-34 to the Burwell Longhorns. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ragan Mauler, who posted 13 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Carsen Vincent, who scored six points.

Even though they lost, Twin Loup smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Burwell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Karsyn Bower, who went 5-for-8 on her way to 12 points and five steals. That's the most steals Bower has posted since back in December of 2024. Laurel Mann was another key player, dropping a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds.

Twin Loup's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Burwell, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Twin Loup does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Burwell, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 41-35 defeat against Pleasanton on the 21st.
