Soccer Recap: Marcus Takes Down Ranked Guyer

On Friday, Marcus faced Guyer in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Marcus Marauders narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Guyer Wildcats 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Marauders also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2023.

Marcus has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-1-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those six contests. As for Guyer, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 7-3-1.

Marcus will host Flower Mound at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Flower Mound has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 19 goals over their last three matchups. As for Guyer, they are taking a road trip to square off against Little Elm at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Guyer's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
