Baseball Recap: Carson Gets the Win

While Carson's victory against Robinson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Carson Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Robinson Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Kendal Sifford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Corbin Hales was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That run was his first of the season.

Carson's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Robinson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Carson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against West Stanly on the 12th. As for Robinson, they have also already played their next match, an 8-4 loss against Hickory Ridge on the 12th.
