Baseball Game Preview: Palo Alto Vikings vs. Wilcox Chargers

For the first time this season, Palo Alto will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wilcox Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Palo Alto is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

Palo Alto lost 15-9 to Capuchino on Monday.

Isaiah Walker was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Jonathan Nguyen, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Even though they lost, Palo Alto always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Wilcox beat San Lorenzo Valley 8-3 on Wednesday.

Wilcox now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Palo Alto, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Palo Alto couldn't quite finish off Wilcox when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can Palo Alto avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
