Baseball Game Preview: Dexter Tigers vs. Stearns Minutemen

The Dexter Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Stearns Minutemen at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Dexter made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Orono, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Tigers fell just short of the Riots by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tigers have suffered since April 17, 2024.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Stearns ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Penobscot Valley 6-5. The win was nothing new for the Minutemen as they're now sitting on four straight.

Owen Wilson and Emerson Michaud were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Wilson pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Michaud pitched 6.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off ten hits. At the plate, Wilson got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Michaud went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Michaud is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
