Baseball Recap: Loris Comes Up Short

Loris blew Marlboro County out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Marlboro County got their revenge. The Lions fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Lions have suffered since March 1st.

Loris got a good showing from Hayden Day, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Day has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Loris saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Hardee, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases.

This is the second loss in a row for Loris and nudges their season record down to 17-9. As for Marlboro County, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 6-8.

As of now, neither Loris nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
