League recap: Stick throws longest pass in league this season for Creighton Prep

Easton Stick and R.j. Urzendowski provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Lincoln Southeast. The longest such play in A District 1 this season, the connection resulted in 97 yards.

Bellevue East was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. The Chieftains beat North Platte 54-19 earlier in the week.

Creighton Prep's dynamic duo of Stick and Urzendowski proved to be unstoppable against the Knights, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Stick threw for 264 yards and 3 touchdowns and Urzendowski had 211 yards receiving. James Scott helped Creighton Prep's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 53 yards.

The Junior Jays' dynamic duo of Stick and Urzendowski proved tough for Lincoln Southeast to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Stick put up the best numbers in passing as Creighton Prep topped Ryan Gottula's team.

Urzendowski was the best wideout in the league this week as Chris Nizzi's team defeated the Knights.

JJ Williams was the most successful running back in A District 1 this week. He ran for 148 yards on 15 carries as Bryan beat Lincoln Southeast. Teammate Sean Ewing added to the ground attack by rushing for 38 yards.

Urzendowski had a great week catching the football as Creighton Prep defeated the Knights.

The leading receiver in the league this season is Urzendowski. The Creighton Prep star has 29 catches for 481 yards.

Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when the Junior Jays' Urzendowski goes up against Omaha Northwest's Zak Schmitz.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Bellevue East takes on Omaha Central. Jerry Lovell's team is currently in fourth, while the Eagles are in third.

The Huskies fell to Lincoln East 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Mitch Wynne was a bright spot for Omaha Northwest, as he ran for 106 yards in the loss.
