Baseball Recap: North Sevier Comes Up Short

North Sevier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Grand County Red Devils. The Wolves were not able to make up for their defeat to the Red Devils from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Parker Jensen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. North Sevier is 2-1 when Jensen posts two or more runs, but 2-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Koy Wasden, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

North Sevier's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Grand County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season.

North Sevier will take on North Summit at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Braves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Grand County, they will square off against Bayfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
