Softball Recap: Longmeadow Lancers vs. Easthampton Eagles

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Longmeadow, Longmeadow was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let the Easthampton Eagles get on the board and left with a 28-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lancers considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Livia Kelly was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Kelly was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Longmeadow got a massive performance out of Isabella Blue, who went 3-for-5 with six RBI, four runs, and one stolen base. Those six RBI gave Blue a new career-high. Delaney Schrager was another key player, scoring six runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances.

Longmeadow's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Longmeadow has already played their next contest, a 0-0 tie against Easthampton/Hampshire on the 8th. Hopefully Easthampton payed attention to the Lancers' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Lancers at 4:00 p.m. on May 2.
