On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Joey Coudon, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Dallas Brooks was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Perkiomen School never got on the board in their matchup on April 5th, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Friends' Central last Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over Friends' Central. Considering the Panthers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Justin Fryer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Fryer was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs and four RBI.
In other batting news, Perkiomen School let Ryan Sink and Ian Perez run wild. Sink got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, while Perez went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Tucholski, who went 3-for-4 with three runs.
John Carroll pushed their record up to 16-5-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Perkiomen School, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
John Carroll's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's match. The Patriots have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Perkiomen School, though, as they've been averaging only 0.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will John Carroll continue to outrun the ball?
