Recap: Hampton Crabbers vs. Warwick Raiders

The Hampton Crabbers entered their tilt with the Warwick Raiders with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Hampton enjoyed a cozy 72-54 win over Warwick on Thursday. Given Hampton's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Warwick is ranked 347th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hampton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abraham Taft, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Daron Baugh was another key contributor, scoring 22 points.

Hampton's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Warwick, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

Hampton is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Bethel at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. As for Warwick, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Phoebus at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th.
