Football Recap: Lane Tech Comes Up Short

Lane Tech fell victim to Maine South and their airtight defense on Saturday. They took a 6-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. If the Champions were looking for revenge after losing 13-12 to the Hawks when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Layla Moreland threw for 137 yards on 20 of 29 attempts. Lila Massey was her top target, picking up 53 receiving yards.

Lane Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Maine South, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Lane Tech has already played their next contest, a 39-0 victory against Clark on the 15th. As for Maine South, they will challenge Glenbrook South at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Hawks 6, the Titans 9) so any points scored will be well earned.
