Football Recap: Fairview Falls Short Against Ranked Arvada West

Fairview faced Arvada West in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Knights and the Wildcats were almost perfectly matched up, but the Knights suffered a 34-33 loss. Despite 150 more yards than the Wildcats, the Knights couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Fairview still got an impressive performance from Ki Ellison, who threw for 241 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 81 yards and one touchdown.

Arvada West had a senior duo take command as Noah Meurer picked up 134 receiving yards and a pair of scores and Logan Duhachek threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns.

Fairview's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Arvada West, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Fairview wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 63-0 victory against Boulder on the 12th. As for Arvada West, they have also already played their next game, a 35-34 win against Legend on the 12th.
