Basketball Recap: Waterville Takes a Loss

Waterville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 37-21 to the Maine Central Institute Huskies. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-23 back in December of 2024.

Waterville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Maine Central Institute, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12.

Waterville will take on Winthrop at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Winthrop will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Waterville surely won't give up without a fight. As for Maine Central Institute, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lincoln Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Maine Central Institute is facing Lincoln Academy at the right time seeing as Lincoln Academy is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
