Basketball Recap: Glendale Takes a Loss

It was a good run, but Glendale unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 60-59 to the St. Genevieve Valiants. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Nitros came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 321st, while the Valiants are ranked 678th).

Glendale's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. As for St. Genevieve, they moved to 5-7 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Glendale will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Arcadia at 6:45 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for St. Genevieve, they will be home for the holidays to greet Bosco Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bosco Tech knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully St. Genevieve likes a good challenge.
