Recap: Mapletown Maples vs. Charleroi Cougars

After flying high against Turkeyfoot Valley Area last Wednesday, Mapletown came back down to earth. The Mapletown Maples wound up on the wrong side of a tough 14-2 walloping at the hands of the Charleroi Cougars on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Mapletown of the 15-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

For Charleroi's part, Sofia Celaschi made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched.
