Metea Valley and Downers Grove North are an even 4-4 against one another since September of 2016, but not for long. The Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Metea Valley has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since September 17.

On Tuesday, Metea Valley came up short against Naperville North and fell 2-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Downers Grove North also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Oak Park-River Forest by a score of 2-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-15.

Metea Valley's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Downers Grove North, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 13-5.

Metea Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Downers Grove North in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
