Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ny'asia Young and Taylah Leaphart Lead Ridge Spring-Monetta to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hunter-Kinard-Tyler, Ridge Spring-Monetta was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Horse Creek Academy Stallions by a score of 53-44. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 53-24 back in January.

Leading Ridge Spring-Monetta to victory were Taylah Leaphart and Ny'Asia Young. Leaphart posted 28 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Young dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards. Young is becoming a predictor of Ridge Spring-Monetta's success: when she posts at least ten rebounds the team is 12-6 (and 1-3 when she doesn't).

When it comes to explaining why Horse Creek Academy lost, don't look at Zariyah Price. Despite the final result, she put up 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karrington Simpkins, who earned ten points.

Ridge Spring-Monetta's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Horse Creek Academy, they dropped their record down to 3-15 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
