Baseball Recap: Tara Beats False River for Their Third Straight Win

Tara put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the False River Gators as the Tara Trojans made off with a 15-9 win.

Adrian Coleman was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three).

In other batting news, Enrique Avila was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Steven Ruiz was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Tara kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as False River onlymanaged eight hits.

Tara's record now sits at 3-0. As for False River, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2-1.

Coming up, Tara will host Family Christian at 3:30 p.m. on February 27th. As for False River, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. John at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. False River is facing St. John at the right time seeing as St. John is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
