Recap: Gilbert Christian Knights vs. Ganado Hornets
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-30, which was the final score in Gilbert Christian's's tilt against Ganado on Friday.
Gilbert Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Unesu Machiri and Lillie Duitsman. Machiri scored 12 points along with six rebounds, while Duitsman scored three points along with three steals. Machiri scored a full 40% of Gilbert Christian's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Gilbert Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Ganado, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Gilbert Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Marana at 10:30 a.m. on December 16th. Marana will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 244th, while Gilbert Christian is ranked 104th). Ganado won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Payson at 12:00 p.m. on December 16th. Payson is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.2 points per game.
