Baseball Recap: Prospect Triumphs

Prospect posted their closest victory since April 21st on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Rolling Meadows Mustangs. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Dominic Graf looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Prospect let Ken Munao and Aiden Nelson run wild. Munao went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Nelson got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Nelson has posted over his last 13 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Fouch, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Prospect's record now sits at 17-9-1. As for Rolling Meadows, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-10.

Prospect will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
