Recap: Layton Lancers vs. Davis Darts
The Layton Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a rough 60-34 defeat at the hands of Davis. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Layton in their matchups with Davis: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, Layton still got an impressive performance from Oakley Homer, who scored 12 points. That was a full 35.3% of Layton's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Katlynn Spendlove, who scored six points.
Davis was led to victory by T'Maea Eteuati and Kendra Kitchen. Eteuati scored nine points along with nine rebounds, while Kitchen scored 14 points. Kate Richards was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two blocks.
Layton's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-10. As for Davis, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Layton will take on Farmington at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Davis, they will be playing at home against Syracuse at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Syracuse is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
