Mathews has gone a perfect 3-0 against Northampton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Blue Devils will look to defend their home field against the Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Mathews made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Middlesex, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 10-8 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Chargers: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Northampton came up short against Arcadia on Thursday, falling 15-2.

Northampton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryleigh Caison, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Northampton's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Mathews, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Everything went Mathews' way against Northampton in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Mathews made off with a 16-9 victory. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
