Basketball Recap: Jillian Baker and Tegan Harborth Secure Win for Navarro

Navarro was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Canyon Lake on Friday. The Navarro Panthers put the hurt on Canyon Lake with a sharp 55-30 victory. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while Canyon Lake are ranked 751st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Navarro was led to victory by Tegan Harborth and Jillian Baker. Harborth posted 17 points along with eight boards and five assists, while Baker went 6 of 11 en route to 13 points. The dominant performance gave Baker a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Gilliam, who scored eight points.

The win snapped Navarro's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 22-13 record. As for Canyon Lake, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 13-18.

Navarro has already played their next match, a 56-43 loss against Bandera on the 4th. As for Canyon Lake, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-26 defeat against Davenport on the 4th.
