Baseball Recap: Saratoga Takes a Loss

If Saratoga was feeling good fresh off their 16-0 takedown of MacDonald last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons lost 11-4 to the Fremont Firebirds on Tuesday. The Falcons have struggled against the Firebirds recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Saratoga saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shriyans Venkatram, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Sachin Sankar also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Saratoga's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Fremont, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Coincidentally, Saratoga and Fremont will both be playing Santa Clara the next time they take the field. The Firebirds will head out to face the Bruins at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Falcons will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
