Softball Game Preview: Biggsville West Central Heat vs. Bureau Valley Storm

The Biggsville West Central Heat will face off against the Bureau Valley Storm at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Biggsville West Central comes in on six and Bureau Valley on three.

Bureau Valley's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Biggsville West Central hadn't allowed a single run the last six times they've hit the field. The Heat's pitcher stepped up to hand Hamilton an 8-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Heat have won 15 matches by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Miley Stimpson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Biggsville West Central let Lily Higgins and Addie Seitz run wild. Higgins went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs, while Seitz went 3-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Seitz has posted over her last 13 games. Another player making a difference was Jaelyn Hines, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Biggsville West Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Bureau Valley posted their closest victory since March 18th on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Henry-Senachwine 1-0.

Biggsville West Central pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Bureau Valley, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
