Softball Recap: Ludington Comes Up Short

Ludington extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-12 in the process. They came up short against the Fremont Packers, falling 16-1. The Orioles were not able to make up for their loss to the Packers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Fremont, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 7-4-1. The result was nothing new for the Packers, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Fremont's part, Kam Clark made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Clark was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gracie Clark, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last ten contests. Allison Weiden was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Ludington is set to face off against their familiar foe Montague at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Fremont will square off against rival Mason County Central at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
