Basketball Recap: Regis Jesuit's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Regis Jesuit and Rangeview squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Regis Jesuit had to settle for second. They fell to Rangeview 75-69. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (59), Regis Jesuit still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Regis Jesuit still got an impressive performance from Eric Fiedler, who shot 44% from the field on his way to 37 points and seven rebounds. The contest was Fiedler's eighth in a row with at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Lucas Dickinson, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 13 boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rangeview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marceles Duncan, who almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine rebounds. Duncan is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed four or more in each of the last three games he's played. Archie Weatherspoon V was another key player, putting up 19 points.

The loss snapped Regis Jesuit's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 19-7 record. As for Rangeview, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 26-0.

Regis Jesuit does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rangeview, they will welcome Valor Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Rangeview has won 19 straight at home dating back to last season, while Valor Christian won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
