Football Recap: Diller-Odell Griffin vs. Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs

Diller-Odell and Sumner-Eddyville-Miller squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Diller-Odell had to settle for second. They were dealt a 60-25 defeat at the hands of the Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Griffin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 17th).

Although Diller-Odell took the loss, they still got scores from Teghan Rosebaugh, Peyton Humphreys, Xavier Zaboktrsky, and Jake Behrends.

Even though they lost, Diller-Odell was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 276 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive contests.

The team also got some help courtesy of Cohen Rohde, who gained 82 total yards and two touchdowns.

Diller-Odell's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
